Dr. K. Prasada Rao is the Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at TKR College of Engineering & Technology (TKRCET), Hyderabad. He has over 26 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. He is currently serving as the Head of the Department (HoD) and Chairman of the Board of Studies (BoS) for the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at TKRCET.Dr. K. Prasada Rao completed his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from JNTU Hyderabad in 1996. He obtained his Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Power Electronics from JNTU Hyderabad (JNTUH) and subsequently earned his Ph.D. from JNTUH in 2019.

He has made significant contributions to academic administration, curriculum development, NBA and NAAC accreditation processes, and research coordination. He has published more than 30 research papers in reputed journals and conference proceedings. His research and academic interests include Smart Grid Technologies, Renewable Energy Systems, Power Electronics, and Smart City Applications. He continuously enhances his professional expertise through prestigious NPTEL certifications offered by IITs and IISc, covering advanced topics such as Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Computer Networks, and other emerging technologies. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2002 and presently it offers under graduate programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and post graduate programmes in Electrical Power Systems. The UG programme is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in the year 2014 for three years and reaccredited in the year 2018 for 3 years. The PG programme is also accredited by NBA in the year 2019 for 3 years.
